~ HOW DO I GET THERE?
FROM FARO:
Faro airport is the closest airport.
By car
It is a 1 hour and 15 minutes drive away from the lodge and there are many rental options at the airport. We recommend http://www.luzcar.com
By public transportation
Comboios do Portugal (CP) has multiple daily train services from Faro to Lagos, with a journey time of 1.5–2 hours. Timetables and prices are available on the CP website.
From Lagos there is a bus to Aljezur (see here).
By taxi
There are many private transfer/taxi services available from Faro Airport.
You can, for example, book your ride in advance here.
FROM LISBON:
By car
From Lisbon Airport it takes about 3 hours by car to get here.
By bus
There are daily coach services from Lisbon to Aljezur.
By train
Combios do Portugal (CP) has multiple daily train services from Lisbon to Lagos.

~ HOW DO WE GET AROUND
The easiest way to get around is by (rental) car or e-bike. Vale da Telha, Arrifana, Monte Clérigo and Aljezur are situated in a natural park and the area is quite hilly. ~ WHERE WE CAN EAT?
There is a great choice of restaurants in Vale da Telha, Aljezur and at the nearby beaches. You could also join an organised dinner at the lodge or, in case you feel like cooking your own meal, make use of the fully equipped kitchen.

~ IS THE POOL HEATED?
Yes, but only from around mid April to around end of Oktober. The pool is heated via the solar collectors on the roof. In the winter months this energy is needed for the heating of the house. We try to be as environmentally conscious as we can and will only use solar heating for the swimming pool.

~ WHERE CAN I PARK MY CAR?
The car can be parked in front of the lodge for free.

~ CAN I COME WITH KIDS?
At Birds of Paradise, we welcome families with children and kindly request our guests with little ones to help maintain the peaceful ambiance. Please be aware that our lodge is an intimate, small boutique setting dedicated to providing a laid-back and mellow vibe for all our guests. We appreciate your cooperation in maintaining this unique and harmonious environment.
Kids from 0-2 years can stay for an extra €15,- per night in a baby cot (except in the Bee-eater and the Roller room).
Kids from 3 years and older can stay on the sleeping sofa in the Bird of Paradise room (max. 2 children). Another option is on an extra mattress in the Cockatoo and the Sanderling room.
We have high chairs available.
The swimming pool doesn’t have a fence around it, so parents are always responsible
for supervising the safety of their children.
Conditions
PAYMENTS
When making a reservation, we ask a deposit of 30% of the total rental amount. Four weeks before arrival the full amount has to be paid to us.
CANCELLATION
In case of cancellation more than 12 weeks before arrival, the deposit will be refunded after deduction of € 100,- administration costs. After that, we will charge the entire rental amount. Shortening your stay is seen as a partial cancellation, the rental amount will be calculated over the entire initially booked period.
ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE
On the day of arrival, check in time is between 16h00 and 23h00. Check out time is at 10h00.
MINIMUM STAY
In high season (mid July to end of August), the minimum stay is 6 nights and check in is possible on Friday, Saturday and Sunday only. In shoulder season it is possible to book differently, but with a minimum stay of 4 nights.
PETS
Pets are not allowed at the lodge.
SMOKING
Smoking is not allowed inside the lodge.
PROPERTY DAMAGE
Guests will be held responsible for any loss or damage to the lodge property caused by themselves, their guests or any person for whom they are responsible.
ONE PERSON BOOKING
There is no price difference for a room occupied by one or two persons.
